Tools¶
In the Geoprocessing pane under Plugins, and on the Plugins tab.
Hexagon Grid¶
plugin:vector-toolkit/hexagon-grid
Covers a layer's extent with hexagons of a given size.
| Parameter | Kind | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extent from layer (required) | Vector layer | ||
| Cell width (km) (required) | Number | 250 |
The distance across a hexagon's flat sides, measured at the extent's middle latitude. |
| Only cells with features | Yes or no | false |
Keep only cells that contain a vertex of an input feature. |
Square Grid¶
plugin:vector-toolkit/square-grid
Covers a layer's extent with square cells (a fishnet).
| Parameter | Kind | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extent from layer (required) | Vector layer | ||
| Cell size (km) (required) | Number | 250 |
|
| Only cells with features | Yes or no | false |
Random Points In Polygons¶
plugin:vector-toolkit/random-points
Scatters random points inside each polygon.
| Parameter | Kind | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Polygons (required) | Polygon layer | ||
| Points per polygon (required) | Number | 10 |
|
| Random seed | Number | 1 |
The same seed gives the same points. |
Install¶
- In RustGIS (desktop or web): open Plugins › Plugin Manager › Browse, find Vector Toolkit and choose Install. RustGIS checks the download against the SHA-256 above.
- On the command line:
rustgis-cli plugins get vector-toolkit. - From the file: download the package, then choose Plugins › Install From File in RustGIS or run
rustgis-cli plugins install <file>.
Run a tool on the World Atlas sample:
rustgis-cli run --sample --cmd 'gp.run={"tool": "plugin:vector-toolkit/hexagon-grid", "params": {"input": "Countries", "size": 250, "touching": false}}' --cmd 'share.exportMap={"path":"map.png"}'
